Good morning, lovies! You will never know how much I appreciate all of you following Lashes and Lacquer and reading about the products I’ve been trying and love. During my recent hiatus, I’ve started selling AVON ( and absolutely love it. But what I really want to share with you is that I am creating a new beauty blog for all of you to enjoy and I hope you will follow me there onto the next chapter! I have yet to decide on a name for the new blog, but once I do, I will post an update on here so you can join me! Until then, you can always refer to my past posts, some of which will be included in the new venture. Here’s to the next chapter!

There’s nothing worse to me about winter (aside from it being too cold) than having scratchy feet! It is one of my biggest pet peeves when I can actually FEEL the dryness on my heels scraping my blanket at night (ew, I know). But it happens – and this winter weather doesn’t help! Thankfully, there’s an easy fix with just a few ingredients you can find in your pantry. This DIY scrub will perfect your feet and leave them smooth during these frigid winter months and keep your pedicures looking pretty throughout the summer, too. After all, what’s a beautiful pedicure if your feet are rough and your heels are cracking? Even better, these common baking ingredients make the scrub smell like cookies!

You will need:

  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

1. Whisk your sugars together in a bowl.

2. Add olive oil & vanilla extract and continue to whisk.

3. Scrub! In addition to your feet, this makes an excellent scrub for your entire body. Great for exfoliating prior to shaving, and especially great to rid your skin of any dead skin cells prior to applying self-tanning products!

I actually prefer to put on thick lotion & socks after using the scrub to absorb the moisture. Nothing better than waking up with soft feet! Treat your feet and relax – it’s Sunday!

With winter and its dry air approaching, it can leave our lips chapped and dehydrated. Before you go splurging on an expensive lip scrub, you might want to take a look in your pantry for this simple 2 ingredient DIY Exfoliating Lip Scrub. It’s an inexpensive alternative to the lip products you find at your local beauty retailer, and best of all, it’s all-natural.

188All you will need is sugar (brown or white) and olive oil. The sugar naturally exfoliates and removes dead skin cells, while the olive oil contains Vitamin E to moisturize and nourish your lips. Doing this up to 2 times a week can help your lip product application go more smoothly and last longer throughout the day.

1. Mix 1 teaspoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil.
