THE NEXT CHAPTER!

Good morning, lovies! You will never know how much I appreciate all of you following Lashes and Lacquer and reading about the products I’ve been trying and love. During my recent hiatus, I’ve started selling AVON (youravon.com/kyordy) and absolutely love it. But what I really want to share with you is that I am creating a new beauty blog for all of you to enjoy and I hope you will follow me there onto the next chapter! I have yet to decide on a name for the new blog, but once I do, I will post an update on here so you can join me! Until then, you can always refer to my past posts, some of which will be included in the new venture. Here’s to the next chapter!

PRODUCT REVIEW: FORMULA 10.0.6 ‘THREE TIMES SUBLIME’

'FORMULA 10.0.6 THREE TIMES SUBLIME'

‘FORMULA 10.0.6 THREE TIMES SUBLIME’

Okay, so I found ‘Formula 10.0.6’ at Ulta for only $6.99! Having never tried this brand, I figured why not? The packaging was very appealing to me, as well. Plus, it was buy one, get one half off, so I will have to review the other mask – ‘Pores Be Pure’ I bought soon! This particular mask claims, “Fromula Three Times Sublime is ideal for the busy socialite. It is the ultimate time saver and contains Pink Grapefruit, a subtropical citrus fruit that has an invigorating and uplifting fragrance to boost your mood and help cleanse. It also includes Jojoba beads to exfoliate, leaving you skin super smooth and ensuring you’ll never miss a moment with friends. So aside from Ulta.com’s spelling errors of the word Formula, you get the gist of it! The packaging also says it will help with stubborn blackheads, excess oil, and remove blemishes. The pink grapefruit, jojoba, and pomegranate REALLY give this a great smell.

First, I’ll start with the blackheads. While it did help make them less noticeable after gently using warm water and massaging the scrub-like mask off after 15 minutes (you can leave on 10-15 minutes), that subsided shortly after, and guess what? My blackheads are still there. They aren’t horrible, however, so I’m not complaining since it says to use this 1-3 times a week. If you use this and feel a heating sensation, that’s ok! It gets better with regular use. My skin is definitely smooth and helped the dry skin I complained about in the L’Oreal Hydra-Renewal post previously! I definitely recommend this and plan on checking out more of the Formula 10.0.6 line! Have you tried any of their products? Let me know what you think of them in the comments!

INSTAGRAM COMING SOON!

Well October flew by! I’m finally working on a Lashes and Lacquer Instagram page! You can go here if you’d like to follow, and I will follow back 🙂 I will keep adding to it today and hopefully get all of the pictures from the blog uploaded soon. I plan to have a new blog post today, so keep an eye out on here! How was your Halloween? I hope you had a great one and ate lots of candy and watched scary movies!

I did that, as well, and I finally signed up for Ipsy! I hear Urban Decay is in the Glambag this month, so I am super excited. I hesitated for several months and always ended up on the checkout page, until yesterday, I thought “What the heck, it’s only $10 a month.” The shipping is FREE and you can cancel anytime. Plus, the points you add up can be redeemed for products on their site. The discount for ipsy members to purchase single brand items or ipsy items is deeply discounted, so I’m definitely looking forward to that. Don’t wait like I did, join today! You can here. Let me know if you do! Remember, you can cancel anytime! Have a great Sunday!

SAY GOODBYE TO DRY

L’OREAL HYDRA-RENEW

As of late, my typically combination skin has had a few dry spot patches pop up, namely beside each side of my mouth. I would suspect it’s because it’s been windy and chilly here in the northeast lately, especially during my morning walks, and I don’t have the humidity I got accustomed to, which usually makes me oily anyway! Luckily my mom, who went to Save Mart the other day (A local drugstore. I am not sure if they’re anywhere else) bought L’OrĂ©al Hydra- Renewal, and let me use it. I’m so glad she did! It has a light, yet creamy texture and isn’t heavy, so it isn’t clogging pores, which I’m also concerned about! I figured a few readers might also be! I also would like to note that it has B5 which keeps your skin moisturized all day. And it really does!

It wasn’t greasy and stayed soft. I was able to continue feeling the results until I washed my face that evening, which impressive to me because usually I start feeling the patchiness or it shows through my makeup. Give it a try if you need that boost of moisture!  You don’t need to be a sensitive skin type for results with this. It retails typically for $7. 99, and isn’t a bad investment for your face! Let me know if you’ve tried it, or what works for your dry skin!

FAUX GLOW DOs & DON’Ts

fauxglowWe all know the dangers that the sun poses to our skin, and as much as I, myself, love a real tan, it’s just the wiser alternative to turn to the many fabulous self-tanning products out there today. Whether you are too busy to escape on a vacation, or you are self-tanning to consciously avoid UV having contact with your skin, when used properly these products help us mimic the beautiful color we’d get had we spent our last weekend on the beach.

Below, are some pertinent do’s and don’ts when it comes to achieving a faux glow!

DO’s

DO exfoliate 24 hours prior to application! Be especially aware of your knees and elbows.

DO picks a self-tanner that is suitable for your skin tone. Most will say on the packaging for LIGHT/MEDIUM skin, and for MEDIUM/DARK skin.

DO start at your face and neck, being mindful to apply to your ears also! Use light upward strokes on your face and neck.

DO blend it out lightly on thinner skinned areas, such as hands, feet, face and throat. Thinner skin needs less product!

DO moisturize daily after self-tanning to ensure your tan lasts longer.

DON’Ts

DON’T shave the day after you’ve applied your self-tanner.

DON’T over rub the self-tanner when applying.

DON’T exercise for 24 hours.

Remember, if you aren’t comfortable with self-tanners, try a gradual tanner like Jergens Natural Glow. Used daily like a moisturizer, it safely helps build a natural-looking color. A daily reapplication will help you easily achieve a faux glow with no faux pas!

Do you have any self-tanning faux pas experiences?
